Is the Truth Out There? Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard: "Yes, it is"
In an interview with the New York Post podcast "Pod Force One," President Trump's Director of National Intelligence (DNI) responded to questions from Miranda Devine regarding UFOs.
In a rare interview with the current Director of National Intelligence, New York Post reporter Miranda Devine pushed for answers about advanced platforms.
The role of the DNI is to oversee 18 different agencies of the United States, including CIA, DIA, NSA, NGA, NRO, intelligence elements of the armed forces and DOE, DHS, DOJ. Notably, under both the authority of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Office of the DNI is the AARO, the Pentagon's UFO Office.
Two weeks ago, in a remarkable move, the ODNI fired the former AARO interim director, Tim Philips. Despite numerous attempts to clarify the situation, the ODNI has remained silent. One can only imagine that Tim Philips's recent public interviews, in which he claimed that the U.S. was in possession of pictures of black triangles, were the reason he was fired.
MD: UFOs. There's been a lot of...
DNI Gabbard: My husband is in the corner, for the record, pumping his fist right now, that you're asking this question.
MD: So, I mean, is there anything? We've had some declassification of some very strange videos that look like they are, you know, unidentified flying objects? Is there anything in the files that you think you could find or you have found?
DNI Gabbard: nothing that I'm prepared to talk about today.
MD: So watch this space?
DNI Gabbard: Um, we are conti- I'm just gonna say this, um, yeah, we're continuing to look for the truth, uh, and share that truth with the American people.
MD: The truth is out there.
DNI Gabbard: Yes, it is.
MD: So do you believe that there could be... aliens?
DNI Gabbard: I honestly… like my personal belief. I have my own views and opinions. In this role, I got to be careful with what I share.
MD: Very interesting.
DNI Gabbard: My husband's laughing in the corner because we have these same conversations and obviously I don't share any classified information outside of my building with those who have clearances, but this is fun that he's here to watch this right now.
MD: Because it's so interesting. I think it's one of those burning things we grew up with.
DNI Gabbard: There are a lot of questions and there's a lot that's been put out there and I'm still going through and looking through what do we know and what is it that we don't know.
MD: And the New Jersey, the strange objects of a New Jersey were drones?
DNI Gabbard: I still have a lot of questions around that. I've heard what the public official line is. Just personally still have a lot of questions that are unanswered because it wasn't just New Jersey. It was happening in different parts of the country.
MD: Really? We had the Chinese spy balloon. Who knows what the Chinese could be sending over?
DNI Gabbard: Yeah, there's a lot of classified information about that.
These answers differ greatly from the statements of one of her predecessors. In an interview with Fox News, John Ratcliffe—now the director of the CIA—declared:
"When we talk about sightings, we talk about objects that have been seen by navy or air force pilots or have been picked up by satellite imagery that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain."
In this day and age, when we launch probes and invest billions of dollars in rovers and telescopes to find alien life, is the mention of "extraterrestrial" still that radioactive?
Then, DNI Avril Haines made an interesting statement about UAP :
There’s always the question of ‘is there something else that we simply do not understand, that might come extraterrestrially?
Recently, the ODNI has distanced itself from AARO's activities. The ODNI's stamp of approval was missing from the infamous historical report released by AARO. Could this be because they knew it contained a large number of factual errors and missing sources?
Tulsi Gabbard has also been in the spotlight these last few days after recovering burn bags from the FBI containing documents seemingly implicating former Democratic leaders in claims that Russia manipulated the elections in favor of Donald Trump.
With such a white knight aura, can the ODNI still dismiss UAP?
It's important to note that, like all political appointees, the ODNI leader has limited freedom of speech because he is under the direct authority of the executive branch and the president. It would be unthinkable for someone in this position to speak about such an inflammatory subject without direct approval from their superior because it would alter the United States' political stance.
The ICIG's failure to access details of the crash retrieval program, which was denounced by whistleblower David Grusch but validated by Rep. Burlison as existing, strongly hints that this alleged program is under the executive branch's authority. Unless President Trump allows the subject to be discussed, political appointees will likely never be able to answer journalists' questions.
