GTA (Grand Theft Auto), the crown jewel of video game sarcasm, where morality is as flexible as the game's code. So hold on tight, because we're about to dive into the exciting world of UAPs and their enigmatic link to GTA 5, as well as the wild speculation surrounding GTA 6.
Welcome to Los Santos, where the skies aren't just filled with rockets and police helicopters. These days, the mysterious UAPs, unidentified aerospace phenomena, have decided to make a surprise appearance.
So, what's the connection between these UFOs and Rockstar's masterpiece? Why can't aliens just play GTA like everyone else? Well, maybe they just want to take part in some "intergalactic tuning" of their flying saucers.
If you've spent more time chasing ETs than completing missions for Lester, you're not alone. UAPs have thrown players in a new quest, a hunt for an alien egg, that’s more captivating than GTA Online's latest treasure hunt.
Los Santos UFOs: more than mere points on the map
In GTA 5, UFOs aren't just points on the map that you tick off to reach 100%. No, no, my friends. These mysterious flying saucers are an invitation to dive into the abyss of mystery and question the reality of Los Santos.
Hunting UAPs is not a side quest, it's a plunge into the unknown. From crop circles to cryptic messages, Rockstar planted clues that will thrill even the most skeptical gamer. Some even claim to have heard extraterrestrial voices in the background noise of radio waves.
The Chiliad Mystery: A cosmic puzzle
Chiliad Mountain, the majestic peak dominating the Los Santos skyline, hides more than just lifts. The most adventurous players have discovered a mysterious wall drawing that seems to foretell UAPs’ arrival.
This Mystery has taken the famous “egg hunt” to a whole new level. Enigmatic symbols, strange scenes subject to repetition, and unanswered questions that obsess you even after switching off the console.
Navigating the Unknown: UFOs in GTA V, ufological gameplay
The player will have the opportunity to run into aliens several times, just 5 minutes into the game. In fact, during the tutorial, after taking control of the 4x4, Michael De Santa may go off-roading on the frozen Ludendorff River, where just under the first bridge an alien is trapped in the ice, reminiscent of the Xenomorph designed for the alien films by the talented but late Hans Ruedi Giger. But, it’s in the online mode's main missions that the mystery will really captivate players, namely :
Extraterrestrial Investigation:
The protagonist receives cryptic messages on his cell phone, inviting him to investigate strange phenomena in Los Santos. The clues lead him to iconic locations in the city, where unidentified flying objects are spotted.
Infiltration at local Area 51:
After gathering enough information, the player discovers the existence of a secret base, which is similar to Area 51. A perilous infiltration mission ensues, where the player discovers advanced technologies and secret files.
Extraterrestrial encounter:
The climax of the chapter reveals a direct encounter with extraterrestrials. Intergalactic communication is established, and the player must make crucial decisions for the future of Earth.
Of course, Rockstar Games didn't stop there, and decided to mix reality with fiction, notably through documents that the player recovers during the aforementioned missions. These evoke the famous Majestic 12 committee, founded in 1947 under Harry S. Truman’s presidency. But also, via interviews, and other in-game events:
Meeting with "Lucie Dubois" - February 12, 2023:
The player has the opportunity to meet Lucie Dubois, a fictional citizen of Los Santos whose story is inspired by real-life accounts. Lucie claims to have witnessed a UFO over Vinewood Hills. During the interview, she shares intriguing details, such as flashing lights and unconventional movements of the object.
Interview with "Robert Moreau" - April 25, 2023:
Robert Moreau, a fictional character based on historical accounts, claims to have been abducted by aliens in the Grand Senora desert. During the interview, the player gathers details about the aliens' appearance and the experiences he allegedly had aboard their ship.
Gathering of Witnesses - June 7, 2023:
The player participates in a fictional UFO Witness Gathering in the game, where characters inspired by real witnesses to UFO sightings share their experiences. These characters may include references to notorious testimonies such as those of Betty and Barney Hill, Travis Walton, and others.
Analysis of Real Photos and Videos:
During missions, the player can examine fictional photos and videos created in the style of real UFO evidence. This includes elements such as strange lights in the sky, unusual formations, and other mysterious phenomena.
Integrating these elements into the game offers a unique perspective by fusing real-life testimony with fiction, prompting players to reflect on the validity of these tales.

Heavenly Hypotheses: GTA 6 and the extraterrestrial mystery
Now that GTA 6 has been announced, one question is on everyone's lips: how will UAPs fit into this interactive madness?
Perhaps in GTA 6, aliens will finally have a union. We'll probably see them demonstrating for equal rights alongside gamers, and who knows, maybe they'll even have their own alien reality TV channel.
The UAPs could very well become the stars, with advertising contracts for interstellar products. Who wouldn't want to buy an extra-terrestrial smoothie, after all?
At a time when most major media outlets struggle to address this topic, just a few hours after the trailer's release, we've already seen a plethora of articles criticizing the sexualization of women and femicide. In reality, Dan Houser's team has likely created one of the best satires of American society, brilliantly denouncing its issues and prompting players to reflect deeply on the pitfalls of our current society. It's noteworthy that for the first time in Rockstar's history, a woman will be featured as the main character, with the solo mode plot revolving around a Bonnie and Clyde dynamic. GTA 6 is likely to do much more for popularizing representations of independent women than many articles calling for sterile controversies published after this trailer.
Considering the current American news surrounding UAPs, it wouldn't be surprising if Rockstar further develops the ufological theme, perhaps parodying David Grusch's congressional testimony or featuring missions to recover extraterrestrial crafts for the IAA (equivalent to the Central Intelligence Agency in the GTA world).
In conclusion, while GTA 5 provided us with a flow of UFOs and mysteries, GTA 6 promises to raise the bar with an even more extraterrestrial satire of American society. Stay tuned for more details, and maybe, just maybe, get ready to party with our new friends from elsewhere.
Stay sarcastically curious, dear players. You never know what awaits you around the corner of Vice City's street.
